Private Sessions.
Private lessons with me explore your specific needs and questions about your body and movement. People do private work for many reasons:
Chronic pain
Injury prevention
Injury and surgical recovery
Improving balance or posture
Support for movement symptoms of chronic conditions such as Parkinson’s disease or spinal cord injury
Improving performance: dance, music, sports,or other activities.
Private lessons move you toward better function and more ease. These lessons involve deep movement coaching to support your comfort, ease, and learning. Private work takes two forms: Functional Integration® lessons in person, or Virtual Private lessons.
In-person Functional Integration® lessons involve gentle, non-invasive touch, and sometimes verbal instructions. You remain fully clothed during the lesson, usually lying on a low table, supported with rollers or cushions to promote your comfort in change.
In Virtual Private lessons, we meet on Zoom, with the client following my verbal guidance to explore specific movements and relationships. The virtual format allows me to see you moving in your ‘natural habitat,’ which allows me to offer suggestions and accommodations.
We’ll begin our work together by talking about what your goals or interests are – pain management, stress relief, performance enhancement, transformation, or curiosity.
Then I guide you in tailored movement and awareness activities, so you learn new ways to organize yourself for efficient, easeful, pleasurable movement.
